Coordinated Care

World-Class Expertise, Louisville Values

Your care is led by Dr. David Roth, a third-generation Louisvillian and triple board-certified psychiatrist in Adult Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and Pediatrics.

After training alongside nationally recognized pioneers in interventional psychiatry in the San Francisco Bay Area - where he served as Medical Director of OCD Programming at Mindful Health Solutions - Dr. Roth returned home with one clear mission: to bring world-class psychiatric treatments to the community he loves.

With over 30 years of clinical experience treating patients across all ages - from children and adolescents to adults - Dr. Roth understands that effective mental health care requires both cutting-edge science and genuine human connection. At Bluegrass Advanced Mental Health, you'll find both.

Conditions We Treat

  • Depression including Treatment-Resistant
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety)
  • ADHD and concentration difficulties
  • Premenstrual & Postpartum depression

Integrated Psychiatric Care Across the Lifespan

From children and adolescents to adults and older adults, we provide age-appropriate psychiatric evaluation and treatment, addressing conditions including treatment-resistant depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, ADHD, postpartum depression and more.

Personalized Protocols, Not One-Size-Fits-All Treatment

We don't believe in "set it and forget it" care. Every treatment protocol at Bluegrass Advanced Mental Health is tailored to how your brain responds and your individual circumstances, with ongoing adjustments based on your progress.

Whether you're starting TMS therapy, beginning Spravato treatment, or optimizing medication management, we meet you where you are and adapt as you heal.

Dr. Roth's motivational approach helps patients find paths to meaning and purpose even amid suffering, incorporating your key support people and personal passions into the treatment process.

When managing chronic conditions, we educate you about symptom patterns, help you identify changes in severity, and teach you to use interventions proactively to prevent setbacks.

A Place Designed for Healing

Our Louisville clinic is warm, welcoming, and designed with your comfort and dignity in mind. Many patients bring family members along for support, and we welcome their involvement in your care when appropriate.

  • Comfortable treatment spaces where you can relax during TMS sessions or Spravato administration
  • Private areas for confidential calls or quiet reflection between appointments
  • Work-friendly spaces for you to catch up on emails or projects during treatment (especially helpful for Accelerated TMS patients)
  • Sebastian, our Chief Joy Officer, a therapy dog who provides comfort and stress relief
  • A team that genuinely cares about your wellbeing and recovery journey

About Us - Frequently Asked Questions

  • What makes Bluegrass Advanced Mental Health different from other psychiatry practices in Louisville?

    A. Three things. First, Dr. Roth is triple board-certified in adult psychiatry, child & adolescent psychiatry and pediatrics, which is uncommon and means one physician can treat a family across the age range. Second, we offer the full interventional toolkit under one roof: standard Deep TMS, BrainsWay SWIFT Accelerated TMS, Spravato and medication management, rather than referring you elsewhere when medication has not worked. Third, we accept most major insurance carriers and are independent and locally owned, not a franchise or private-equity clinic chain.

  • Is there parking at the clinic?

    A. Yes, free parking is available on site at 7410 New La Grange Road. We are in Suite 320 which is reachable via an elevator.

  • Is Sebastian always at the clinic?

    A. Yes, Sebastian, our standard poodle and Chief Joy Officer, is always at the office (except on the days when he's out on the Bark Bus for a field trip.) If you would prefer not to interact with a dog for any reason, just let us know when you schedule and we will make sure he is not in your path. No explanation needed.

  • Can I bring a family member to my appointments?

    A. Yes, and we encourage it when it helps. Many patients bring their spouse/partner, parent or adult child, particularly to the initial evaluation, since a second perspective on a symptom history is often useful. For patients under 18, a parent or guardian participates.
